Unified Team Diving

Hi guys

I am already a DIR diver and rebreather diver and am looking for a way to combine the two. UTD seems to be the obvious choice. The unit i am using is a KISS classic and i was wondering if anyone has used the rebreather exploration bands with one. The only problem i can see at the moment is the location of the counterlungs ........... where do they sit in relation to the bands?????

Also could the kiss be reconfigured to comply with the UTD setup???

can anyone help?????

Cheers for the reply Nick

I live in New Zealand so if there is anyone near by i would love to see if they fit!!!!!!!

i don't really understand how the MX counterlungs would fit but i'll look into it if the kiss ones don't work. it may be a case of capping off the existing attachment points and using the exact same setup as the MX.

can anyone send me a picture from above of the bands with just a backplate on (no wing or rebreather) and a tape measure next to the holes between where the scrubber would go and the backplate???????????? This will help as i may be able to re-size the holes to fit the kiss counterlungs : )

I know it seems like hard work but i've been trying to find a good setup for my unit for almost 2 years now and the manifolded bailout makes perfect sense

Thanks
So i bit the bullet already and bought the bands and manifold and they work a treat.

The counterlungs sit neatly in the slots between the scrubber and the cylinders. they look a little squashed but there realy not and the WOB is fine. I've had to use a backplate with holes quite low and a wing with an offset inflator so the cylinders aren't too high on my back. luckily i already had all of this.

thanks for your help nick and please check out the photos.

i look forward to doing the essentials of rebreathers course n the near future

Awsome pics there Tom.

The MX-Kiss also has my attention.  Just a question though, how do you have the dill and O2 feeding into your head?

I have looked at the other pics on UTD and can't work out if they have the O2 feeding in before or after the scrubber.  Me personally, I like to have it feed in before the scrubber, get nice and mixed then go past the O2 cells.  I also like to have the dill inject as close as possible to my mouth.

It all looks back to front from what I can make out?? confused and waiting for more detailed info/schematics.  Read in one place that there is no ADV and now I read that there is ADV.  To me this sounds like that they are still trying to sort it all out.  I hope the MAV stays out of the picture.

Hi Michael,

The O2 goes in before the scrubber and the dil goes directly into the head close to the inhale side of the loop. We decided after factory training and getting some time on the unit to go with the KISS ADV. There is no O2 leaky valve...O2 is added via manual injector only.

Please feel free to contact me directly for more info.

Best,

Jeff
