Unified Team Diving

Headed up to Vancouver Island in about 2 months to try to:

1) Improve the map of the first ~2500ft of one of the 1,000s of caves up there (this one happens to be predominantly flooded)

2) Explore beyond the last known penetration at ~200ft depth

3) Provide some video documentation

4) Publish map & new penetration results in Canadian Caver or other suitable venue.

We've budgeted 7 diving days so its an ambitious agenda, feel free to ask questions or just wait until we got some actual news :)

whoops, August 21-29th
Sweet. I hope by the time I get around to getting some cave training there will be some passageway left to discover somewhere.

How hard do you want to work for it? This place is only do-able in low flow summertime, a 10-11 hour drive from Seattle, 4wd only the last hour then a ~45min hike with tanks. Forget getting fills. One of our partners has a compressor and I'm converting my compressor to gas power for the week as well to help support it. I think water temp is about 44F, but unlike the Omak mine at least vis is known to be good.
Going back last week of August 2011. Need cave trained people who like cold water (43f), hiking with doubles (900m), and not expecting a completely swimmable cave throughout. Bonus for rock climbing or dry caving skills :)
