Scarlet is going to be the absolute perfect tool for me!
The day I get mine houses I will sell (or throw away) the FX1 hopefully & my Sea & Sea housing.

The issues I will have are mostly that going S35 for video and maybe with Manual Focus may make the video more challenging.
But mostly video with Nikon D-300 sized stills ? This is 100% what I need

Hey Scott, If you do both, high end film and video, and stills, the Scarlet is the way to go. If you need just high end film and video, Scarlet is the way to go. If you need high end stills, your Nikon is probably better (Scarlet won't have an optical viewfinder). If you need anything in the next 12 months, Scarlet won't be the way to go. :)

At the professional and high end consumer video levels, I completely agree Jeff. At the still photo and dSLR levels, I'm not so sure. I considered waiting for the scarlet before buying my next dSLR, but in all honesty the price point is just too high when compared to very solid recent offerings by Nikon and Canon. While it remains to be seen, I think the Red products will definitely find a niche, and I sure hope they succeed as I admire their ingenuity.

For the record, I shoot a Nikon D90 in an Ikelite housing, mounted on a custom scooter bracket that allows for swiveling and quick-release.

This Saturday I'm speaking at the Los Angeles Red Users Group about a project I shot...a video game called Need For Speed. But as RED gets ready to roll out their Scarlet and Epic cameras, I think we'll see a huge shift in underwater photography and cinematography. These cameras are small, light, and very high resolution, and they're offering a 3D system which will be very easy to put in a housing.

howdy. I shoot Sony A1U HD video in a Gates housing mounted on an x-scooter with the dive-xtras swivel mount. Also shoot a Nikon D300 topside. Probably moving to a new HD video within the year. Sony EX-1?

Anyone interested in 3D video underwater? I met a guy the other night who's working on a new rig, and then there's Red...we should see a Scarlet/Epic 3D system sometime this year.
