We will be conducting intro to tech dives on march 28th at veteran's park. If nothing else works out you are welcomed to tag along and play fish in a pond

Barb and I are currently taking the Essential's class in Seattle. We are, however, going to be in LA in a couple of weekends and are looking at trying to get a couple of dives in on Sat., March 28. We thought it might be fun to connect up with some of the LA UTD crowd. If any of the recent Essentials class (or anyone else, for that matter) would like to join us for some bubble time, with maybe a few drills thrown in for good cause, let us know.

Hi Everyone,
I am not sure if you have seen that we are holding a Ratio Deco course on March 21, 2009 (see Event Calendar). Many of you have repeatedly indicated interest - and we responded.
This in-person course will help you understand the methodology behind our decompression strategy.
I know some of you have signed up and are going through the on-line material as we speak but others that were very interested have not. If you are planning to attend, I urge you to sign up and start going through the material. It really pays off to be prepared in order to reap the benefits.
If you have friends and dive team members that are interested - by all means - let them know as well.
This course will be hosted by Ocean Adventures Dive Co., the US' first UTD facility.

I'm speaking at the LA Red Users Group Saturday. The RED One is the camera that is changing the face of cinematography and will, sometime in 2009, also change the face of underwater cinematography. The next camera that is coming from Red is called the Scarlet...it's small, light, very high resolution, and will fit perfectly into a housing. Saturday's topics will not be centered on underwater, but if you're interested in underwater video, this is the camera and group to check out. http://www.redusergroupla.com/

And check out the Santa Monica Baykeepers Group on the site. These guys run a kelp restoration project along the Southern California coastline and are always looking for volunteer divers. It's great fun, great diving, and they have a bitchin' boat. Free boat rides, free fills, bring your own food, pick up 5000 sea urchins, all in a day's work.
