That sounds like fun! Maybe get enough people together for a charter?

How many of us are there on here, anyway?

Well, there are 3 other women on the UTD - pacific NW group - I'll ask them to join the women's group. We can ask other girls to dive that day even if they haven't joined UTD.

My schedule is wacky, but if I'm in town, I'm in. If we can't get a charter, maybe we can at least take a road trip away from cove 2 to Keystone, Octo hole, or where ever.

You know, I had a great day of diving today with a group of four women. Personally, I would have enjoyed having some female mentors or role models when I was thinking about where my diving could go. Not that the guys weren't supportive, but it's really useful to see smaller people and older people and less athletic people are managing all this.

I'm totally behind a UTD Women's Dive. Let's think about how we make this happen and how to let folks know about it.

I think the first thing is to decide on a day that would work for at least all the "UTD women", then we can send out an invitation for others to join us and look into a charter or tides for a site other than cove 2.

Lauri, are there any days in April that you know you are available? It sounds like you might have the most difficult schedule. If anyone has a date that definitely won't work for them, please post that info and then we can start narrowing it down.

OK, it's taken a little while to get our schedules straightened out, but it looks like the weekend of April 11 is open for me. I may also have the weekend of April 25 open, but I know Brian was talking about teaching the Rec 3 class at about that time, so am not sure if there is a conflict.

Sorry it took so long to get back to this thread, we have been juggling work and family comitments.

Now, all that being said, if we can't find a weekend day, I would also be up for a "girls night out" too :)

The 11th is out for me, but the 12th would be a possibility. I had tentatively set up that day to dive with Melody to warm up for our T1, so that would be perfect!

Ummm, errrr, sorry.... looks like that weekend is now out for me. I'm going to check off the DAN o2 provider class that weekend. Something that has been on my list for a while and Bob Bailey is teaching it and has a spot open.

Well, maybe we'll have to look farther into the future for a weekend charter, but we could always do the "girls night out" prior to the charter. Maybe just a nice night dive one night in April. ??

Lynne - when do you expect to be back in the water??? June???? How about putting an evening on the calender some time in June, to celebrate Lynne's recovery?

BTW - We had a scenario named after you, today in Bob's Rescue class :)

Oh, my goodness, do I get to know what it was?

My one available weekend day to dive in June is the 20th. But another possibility would be to do something on May 16th. It's my birthday, and Peter is teaching, so I'm at loose ends. Tides, IIRC, look great; we could even take the boat out.

Darn, we will be doing a boat dive in LA the weekend of May 16. How about going to an evening "girls night out" dive Friday, May 29???
