MX-Z Rebreather - Primary PPO2 Monitoring system with OLED Handset Attached on a Fischer Cable.
A primary PPO2 monitoring system with OLED handset (Shearwater Predator) is installed on the canister head with a Fisher connector which allows for easy removal and replacement of the display after diving operations. This “primary” system has completely independent electronics and power source and simply reads the millivolts produced by the three (3) O2 sensors installed in the canister head. The OLED handsets then convert that information to PPO2 and display it on screen, along with various other information. The system is calibrated prior to the dive to ensure that this conversion of mVolt’s is set for air and for 100% O2. It can also be adjusted for altitude if needed. It is also verified by the diver at 20ft/6m to ensure it can measure a PPO2 of 1.6 prior to diving explorations. This OLED display is attached to the diver’s right wrist as it integrates the diver’s depth and time and therefore should be visible during ascents when the diver uses their left arm to adjust the BCD and/or drysuit.
