TECHNICAL GAS BLENDER
This is an academic and hands-on class that qualifies the student to blend high pressure gas mixtures utilizing varying amounts of oxygen and helium into Nitrox, Helitrox, and Trimix.
The class addresses the properties of the gases, common blending techniques, and safety, along with both mathematical and computerized methods of establishing various breathing gas mixes.

The course covers all the common methods of mixing and filling Scuba breathing cylinders including, but not limited to, partial pressure blending, continuous flow blending, the use of membrane systems, and cascading and boosting gases. Topics also include analyzing the gas and labeling procedures for tanks.
The student will also learn the safety aspects of handling potentially dangerous gasses such as oxygen.
Prerequisites
Minimum 21 years of age
UTD Tech 2 is recommended but not required.
