Incentive programs for new UTD Instructors. Our philosophy on new instructors has always been to make the UTD IDC as accessible as possible, so we've instituted three financial incentives for new instructor candidates. Choose any one: 1. Enroll in an IDC and bring two people with you, your modules are free. Or... 2. Receive $1000 in free class materials you can resell to your students. Or... 3. Use our financing option. We've created extensive training materials for both students and instructors. Although all our academic materials are accessed online, we don't believe a student can learn solely from the web, so all UTD classes include in-person lectures and dry runs. We have our famed "Instructor Playbook," which outlines class schedules, critical skills training, and much more. It is the consummate resource for dive instructors. Here are the requirements for entry into a UTD Instructor Development Course: 1. Dedicated to both diving AND teaching. With three or more candidates we'll bring the IDC to you, or you can come to UTD HQ in San Diego. The one thing we are not doing, or will ever do, is lower quality of our training programs, either for students or instructors. We don't do any form of paper crossover - everyone must go through the complete IDC. The course is rigorous, demanding, and fulfilling.
