Hi Jay! Casino Point is fun! But the most amazing dive I have ever had is Farnsworth Banks. You'll need a dive boat to take you out...it's a bit far off the coast of Catalina. Gorgeous place! Depth gets deep....but my dive was at 100 feet...and it…

Hey Jay. Casino Point at Catalina is an excellent 1 day destination if you didn't do it yet. As far as boat recommendations, Peace out of Ventura is excellent and has 32% fills, Magician out of LA has 32% fills on board, SeaBass out of LA has O2 an…

Jay if the timing works out, you will be able to get my scooter. Also Steve Zeder now has two and would probably be willing to part with one for a bit.

In Monterey, you'll be able to get 32% fills without issue at Aquarius or Bamboo Reef. As for boats, Escapade is good choice. The captain, Jim, is GUE Tech 1. And now that Phil Sammet captains for the Monterey Express, it's also a good operation. B…

Hi Jay- Marking your bottles with your name or initials is a good idea. If you put them at the base of the front of the bottle, then they're easily identifiable on a boat when their could be a lot of bottles laying together. Since the bottles are t…

I'm thinking i used the incorrect terminology in my question...although good info none the less. Is it UTD practice to label backgas cylinders and/or stages with the diver's name, initials, etc? If so, approximately where on the cylinders is this p…

For the sake of team consistency, I've switched to a 22" inflator. The SPG hose, I've decided will stay at 24". The long hose (currently 7')...I'll play with routing it behind the wing to manage the additional slack and see how that goes. I'm short,…

Does anyone have any graphical examples of our standard(s) for cylinder labelling (both backgas & stages)? Thanks,J

I think the best thing to do is to have a look when you come up in May. It does not sound as if anything tragic is wrong, just a matter of a bit of fine tuning perhaps.

I'm currently using an 18" inflator hose...which is about 4" shorter than "the standard". With this configuration, the power inflator sits slightly below the left chest d-ring. I'm still able to orally inflate the wing and the LP hose will reach the…

Length of the long hose is typically somewhat determined by your height. There is no fixed point at which a 7' hose become impracticable, this is really determined by comfort in managing it. As to the SPG hose, you have to be able to read it and sho…
