- Jeff learned to dive in 1990 in preparation for assisting on a series of underwater filmmaking workshops in the Caribbean. He went on to dive extensively in the warm waters around the Virgin Islands and the [very] cold waters of upstate New York lakes. He is now a technical diver and UTD instructor. Jeff co-owns UTD with Andrew Georgitsis.
After relocating to Los Angeles in 2003, Jeff discovered the Southern California ocean and began exploring the Pacific coast. He loves to dive the deep areas of the Channel Islands and Monterey coastline. He is also a diving volunteer with the Santa Monica Baykeepers working to rebuild our local kelp forests.
Jeff has been teaching adults all his life. He spent two decades running filmmaking classes at the International Film and TV Workshops and the Rockport College and One On One Film Training, a consulting company working with emerging directors. Jeff is a Certificated Flight Instructor and spent many years teaching and competing in competition aerobatics.

Congratulations to Frédéric Pagé, newest UTD Instructor

Congratulations to Frédéric Pagé, UTD's newest Foundational Instructor. Fred completed his IDC in cave country in Florida last week and did a great job. Living in Montreal but spending a few months each year in Florida, Fred will be teaching all the UTD Foundational classes, giving us a great presence on the east side of Canada and another instructor who will be teaching in both French and English.

We now have two new UTD instructors in Spain. Mike Van Splunteren and Roland Bozo from Octopus Mallorca Dive Center in Mallorca completed their IDC's this week at Rivemar Dive Center in La Azohia. Welcome Our Newest UTD Instructors: Sacha and Casper

After an intense week of training at HQ in Carlsbad, we are happy to announce that we have two new UTD Foundational Instructors. Sacha Greene is now a UTD instructor at Ocean First Divers in Boulder, Colorado and will be teaching out of the shop with UTD Tech Instructor George Watson.

Hi Jeff,
Thanks for fine tuning my gear and for all your great instruction in teaching the "Essentials of Rec" class to a newly open water certified diver such as myself. The patience of you and your instructors during the past two days of class was incredible. With having done only 10 dives so far, the "Essentials" class has allowed me to walk away with a strong foundation of skills that I can practice and carry forward in all my future diving endeavors.
