That’s interesting I have always worked on 150' (45m) 220' (66m) and 270' (81m) as set my points With regard to the 45m dive again I have always done a 1m/min ascent from 6m and one of the restrictions / limitations of running…

For the sake of discussion, hear is a piece I wrote a few years ago on a comparison of RD on a shallow dive and a 65m dive. I was running 10/85 deco in those days as this was a one of the fixed set of options on my Hammer Head computer. Clare…

I am familiar with the max deco profile (or at least GI3's one) but I had thought that was something thrashed out with Hamilton rather than any form of actual ratio deco? Also, with a spell on 02 at 30' id assume it was habitat only? In…

Unless there’s some new magic I am unaware of Ratio deco is and always has been a ball park approximation of actual decompression tables and it needs experimentation and comparison in order to be useful. QED it is not a decompression theory…

NOTE: I am to a UTD diver and I am not an instructor but I have dived ratio deco using a slightly modified version of AGs old GUE system for about three years in the 40-80m depth range When diving a computer you have safety settings. When diving…

I looked at these and from a strength unbreakable point of view they are great but Id like to see if they offered easy release in practice. Main reasions i stuck with a quick release is past experiance of being wedged in a tight space. Having the…

The above sums it up nicely. I spent years arguing that GUE were wrong in many ways before the fog of anger relating to the insulting behavior on the net of some of its disciples lifted and I could see it for what it really is. Standardized diving…

Hi All from the UK

Hi every oneNice to find this site. Always had a desire to see GUE type training discipline and standards opened up to CCR divers so UTD could prove to be the answer?I am basically a UK deep (ish) wreck diver who has recently started cave diving. Diving since 89 and CCR since 04 on Inspo Kiss rEvo and now the new JJ. Which Id like to think shows I am constantly searching for the ideal unit, but probably just shows I am not easy to please :D .I am dyslexic so please excuse my god awful spelling…See More

Mark Chase replied to Matt Spiro's discussion 'UTD mCCR configuration'
It would seem more of a compromise to allow the use of GUE type standard rigging and procedures than an improvement. Having on board bailout has a few logistical issues. The only advantages I can think of are 1: keeping the weight of the first…
