Ratio Deco Online ... great class, but now hungry for the "in-person" version!

I have been curious about Ratio Deco for about a year now, having gotten bits and pieces of it through my NAUI TEC and GUE-Fundamentals classes and having discussed it with several of my dive buddies. One of my good friends and my PDIC Instructor Trainer, Trace Malinowski, recently told me that RD was all he used anymore so when I saw that UTD offered it as an online class I jumped at it.

I found the class to be well structured and well paced and the materials are excellent - I've found myself going back and re-reading them several times since I took the class as questions about concepts come up in my head. There were a couple of technical issues with the presentation which Jeff &/or Andrew fixed the same day. Can't beat that for customer service! While I don't feel comfortable enough with the concepts to abandon all other algorithms yet I have started to drink from the punchbowl because it intuitively makes sense to me. I've found myself doing mental dives and computing what I think RD would tell me for my deco schedule.

The one thing that the class has done for me is to turn on the light in my head enough so that when I do get the chance to take the "in-person" class I won't feel "firehosed" by the info.

If you've been curious about RD, I wholeheartedly recommend taking the UTD online class. There's no substitute for getting the info straight from the developer, particularly in this case.

Thanks, guys, for making this available to us!

Jamie, we got a RD class scheduled on March 21, 2009 here in LA. I am sure you have seen it in the class section. AG and myself will co-teach this class. Feel free to join us.

Hi Jamie! Thanks for your post.

I am also interested especially in RD class and I am curious about two things mainly - what is the format of the class - is it possible to print it out and than study it away from the monitor or not?

Secondly - it is more a question to AG: is the format of the class final or you think that some changes may appear?

Thanks,

Anna
