UTD Announces our latest iPad/iPod/iPhone Application. It is the UTD Classroom App. This app allows anyone - UTD students, other agency divers/students, and even future divers - to purchase and download UTD classroom materials and our DVD's onto their iPad/iPod/iPhone for offline viewing. This gives you the convenience of downloading viewable PPT and Video classroom materials, and UTD’s well-known Diving Skills Video's, then watching them offline when you like – wherever, whenever! NOW you can have the most progressive training agency’s materials right on your iPad/iPod/iPhone for use at your leisure.

The idea behind the UTD classroom application, is that it is designed as an enhancement to your UTD Online Classroom experience – it does not replace them. It allows you the user to download only the classroom materials (PPT and Video's) to your phone or ipad and use them offline. There is an additional fee (upgrade) for this convenience, which is paid directly through the apple store at the time of purchase of each one of these classrooms.

Of course, if you are not taking a UTD Class, you can still download the materials and use them. This is a way to get the famed UTD materials less expensive than buying the full UTD Online Classroom when not a student of UTD. If in the future you do decide that you want to take the class, you will still have to purchase the UTD Online Classroom in preparation for your class.

This UTD Classroom Application is designed only as a supplement to the Online Classroom packages – it does not replace them UTD still requires that all students, in preparation for a scheduled in-water UTD Class, purchase the corresponding UTD Online Classroom package ahead of time. The UTD Online Classroom packages have additional reading materials, are moderated by a UTD Instructor, have workbooks and worksheets, as well as a discussion forums with fellow classmates.

Classrooms materials that are available include Openwater - Dive Master, Nitrox, Scooter, Technical, Trimix, Cave, Wreck, Rebreather, Ratio Deco, Gas Blender, Cylinder and Valve Technician and many more. Also available are the "famed" UTD DVD's but now the are Video's Online and available for download through this application.

Comment by Dave Harris on November 13, 2010 at 4:20pm: I've just downloaded open water, I figure it'll be a good teaching aid and so far flicking through it on the iPad it looks great. I'd actually prefer it to the online version when the internet is not 100% (most of the time for me). It's simple to use and uncluttered, a nice touch would be able to play though the slides seamlessly.

One thing for open water though is the reg remove and replace video is actually reg recovery.
